The Taste of Surprise & Art Festival is a vibrant community event that brings together local cuisine, art, and live entertainment to celebrate the unique flavor and creativity of the West Valley.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Surprise and Sun City West, the event offers attendees the chance to enjoy delicious food, explore stunning artwork from local artists, and experience live music—all while making a difference in the community.
As one of the largest community gatherings in the West Valley, this event serves as a vital fundraiser for the Surprise and Sun City West Rotary Charitable Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to supporting early childhood literacy.
Funds raised through this event help enroll local children in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that puts books into the hands and hearts of children across the world. Through this initiative, local communities partner to provide age-appropriate, high-quality books each month to registered children from birth to age five.
The Rotary Club launched enrollment for the program in April 2025, and by June 2025, more than 520 children in Surprise had enrolled, ensuring that each receives one carefully selected book every month. This helps foster a love of reading and builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The initiative not only empowers families but also strengthens early education and literacy development within the Surprise community.
